    LAKE LÉMAN (LAKE GENEVA)

    Lake Léman, sometimes called Lake Geneva, is central Europe’s largest lake and formed from a glacier. With a surface area of 583km2 and 309m at its deepest point. Its maximum width is a bit over 13km (between Lausanne and Evian), and it is in the shape of a croissant. The North shore and the 2 extremities are Swiss, the South shore (where we are) is French. The border cuts across the middle of the lake.

    Fishing

    Arctic char, pike, perch, monkfish… Lake Geneva is full of freshwater fish ready to challenge the best anglers!

    The Amphion beach

    A stone’s throw from La Cité de l’Eau and the mini-golf the municipal beach is open all year round with free access. Swimming is supervised by lifeguards in July and August. Free parking close by.

    The beach is located in a charming park with a combination of grassy and pebbled ground. There are various facilities that include a children’s playground, beach-volleyball pitch, table tennis table and a boules pitch, there is also a snack bar.

    The Publier Tourist Office organises events throughout the year. Come down to the tent next to the snack bar. You can also rent pedalos or Stand Up Paddle boards. This is a perfect place to relax with family or friends.

    PADDLE & KAYAK

    A rental stand (paddle, kayak, pedal boats, etc.) is open on the beach throughout the summer season from June 26 to September 4.
