Nestling at the foot of the cliffs at Entre Deux Perthuis, between rocks and Alpine meadows, Tavaneuse lake (1805 m) is without question one of the finest waterways in the Chablais. Anglers are welcome to try fly-fishing at either end of the day…
Catching the majestic Arctic char, vairon and Fario trout at Tavaneuse lake is worth the effort; you can only reach the lake on foot, after setting out from Montriond or Abondance:
From Abondance: a 2 hours hike via Serranant Alpine meadows.
From Montriond: leave from Montriond Lake, follow signs for Chalets de Lens, carrying on uphill to Portes du Lens, then to Col de Tavaneuse on the right with the lake on the way down.
Depth of the lake: 4.5 m. Area: 2 hectares.
From 04/06 to 09/10.
